Dunes: An Introduction to Sand

This past Labor Day weekend we had a family engagement party to attend in Indiana so we decided it was so close to the Indiana Dunes that it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce sand to Wyatt...or should I say introduce Wyatt to sand.

Sand on the hands was definitely not popular with Wyatt. However, watching the other beach-goers and Seagulls were a big hit! We had many beach toys and a truck that I know will visit the beach again and again.

Wyatt thinking...does she go anywhere without the camera?

Squatting means you don't have to sit in the sand.
(I am hoping he will have his Daddy's thighs.)

Too cute and frameable!

It was very windy, but we were lucky enough to get in some good photos.

What is this a family photo and everyone is looking at the camera! Priceless. Close to being our Christmas Card, but my hair is just a little too out-of-control.

We really had a great trip. Wyatt had many firsts...first time staying overnight at a hotel (and slept...even though he was in his pack-n-play), first road trip over an hour, first time seeing a lake, first time at the beach, and first time visiting the outlets...etc. I think as usual I was more anxious about the trip and was thankful that Wyatt is so incredibly good-natured and easy-going. He loves people and loved being at a hotel or walking along the beach and especially eating in a restaurant...anything to see new people and talk to them. Ken and I decided that the dunes is just to close not to enjoy them more often...so we will be planning more day trips next summer.
Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!
